On the job

Variable Frequency Drive Installation & Commissioning is not a hunt for a magic parameter. It is a sequence: isolate energy, verify the print, measure the supply, measure the load, then change one thing. Drive faults, overload trips, and megger readings get faked when someone skips the 10-minute wait or treats a ground fault like an overcurrent. Write the as-found before you clear the fault.

A ground-fault trip and an overcurrent trip are not interchangeable. Overcurrent is often mechanical bind, a short accel, or motor data that does not match the nameplate. Ground fault is insulation, a damaged motor lead, a wet winding, or a long cable that the drive is finally seeing. Reset-and-hope takes a feeder. Parameterize this motor, this cable, this load — not last month’s identical-looking pump.

What you will cover in Variable Frequency Drive Installation & Commissioning

Practical VFD installation and commissioning beyond parameterization. Covers wiring, EMC considerations, motor cable selection, control wiring, startup procedure, and hand-off to operations. This page is the crawlable outline Google and a curl-no-JS client can read. Quizzes, video, and progress tracking live in the course player.

Who it is for

Industrial electricians and techs who live in MCCs, VFDs, and motor leads — not residential work, not HVAC capacitor jobs.

Who it is not for: license mills, VR demos, or anyone looking for a fake testimonial. We do not invent customer quotes. Certificates of completion after quizzes go in the file. They are not a journeyman card, an ISA credential, or NFPA 70E qualification by themselves.

Catalog facts

ForgeLine Academy currently lists 78 industrial maintenance courses. 44 of those are free (Mechanical and Electrical). Premium unlocks I&E (18) and Engineering (16). That is the whole catalog — not a 22-course teaser and not a four-hour overview of the plant. Call +1 580 421 5714 or email support@forgelineacademy.com for plant cohorts and on-site classes.

Variable Frequency Drive Installation & Commissioning is one course in that 78-course ladder. Mechanical and Electrical remain free. I&E and Engineering are premium. On-site and plant cohorts are scheduled through on-site training or plant support.
