On the job

Plant electricians lose time when they treat every bucket the same. VFD Fundamentals & Parameterization is the method for this class of problem: control power first, then power circuit, then the machine. A chattering coil, a wet winding, and a bound pump look similar on a hurried radio call. They do not look similar on a meter.

A ground-fault trip and an overcurrent trip are not interchangeable. Overcurrent is often mechanical bind, a short accel, or motor data that does not match the nameplate. Ground fault is insulation, a damaged motor lead, a wet winding, or a long cable that the drive is finally seeing. Reset-and-hope takes a feeder. Parameterize this motor, this cable, this load — not last month’s identical-looking pump.

What you will cover in VFD Fundamentals & Parameterization

Variable frequency drives from the rectifier to the IGBT output. Learn to wire, start up, and parameterize a VFD, and to diagnose the most common drive faults. Who it is for

Industrial electricians and techs who live in MCCs, VFDs, and motor leads — not residential work, not HVAC capacitor jobs.

Who it is not for: license mills, VR demos, or anyone looking for a fake testimonial. We do not invent customer quotes. Certificates of completion after quizzes go in the file. They are not a journeyman card, an ISA credential, or NFPA 70E qualification by themselves.

Catalog facts

ForgeLine Academy currently lists 78 industrial maintenance courses. 44 of those are free (Mechanical and Electrical). Premium unlocks I&E (18) and Engineering (16). That is the whole catalog — not a 22-course teaser and not a four-hour overview of the plant. Call +1 580 421 5714 or email support@forgelineacademy.com for plant cohorts and on-site classes.

VFD Fundamentals & Parameterization is one course in that 78-course ladder. Mechanical and Electrical remain free. I&E and Engineering are premium. On-site and plant cohorts are scheduled through on-site training or plant support.
