On the job

Calibration without as-found data is a guess. Temperature Measurement (RTD, Thermocouple, Infrared) is how you keep the loop honest: isolate, vent, equalize, apply a known input, and record as-found / as-left. Then walk the wiring. A 3.8 mA fail-low, a reversed polarity, and a wet junction box still account for more “bad transmitters” than a failed sensor.

The useful version of Temperature Measurement (RTD, Thermocouple, Infrared) is the version you can run on nights without a specialist on the radio. Industrial temperature measurement fundamentals. Covers RTD vs thermocouple selection, 2-wire/3-wire/4-wire RTD circuits, thermocouple types and cold junction compensation, and infrared pyrometry for surface and process temperature. Keep the as-found. Change one variable. Hand the next crew a log, not a story.

Who it is for

I&E technicians who own loops, valves, and transmitters, and who have to defend a calibration in the control room.

Who it is not for: license mills, VR demos, or anyone looking for a fake testimonial. We do not invent customer quotes. Certificates of completion after quizzes go in the file. They are not a journeyman card, an ISA credential, or NFPA 70E qualification by themselves.

Catalog facts

ForgeLine Academy currently lists 78 industrial maintenance courses. 44 of those are free (Mechanical and Electrical). Premium unlocks I&E (18) and Engineering (16). That is the whole catalog — not a 22-course teaser and not a four-hour overview of the plant. Call +1 580 421 5714 or email support@forgelineacademy.com for plant cohorts and on-site classes.

Temperature Measurement (RTD, Thermocouple, Infrared) is one course in that 78-course ladder. Mechanical and Electrical remain free. I&E and Engineering are premium. On-site and plant cohorts are scheduled through on-site training or plant support.
